Thai Airways International has announced it will ground 69 aircraft in its fleet of 82, excluding aircraft in its budget carrier Thai Smile, which continues to operate domestic flights, the company said.
Thai Airways said it is seeking ways to boost finances and shore up its liquidity amid the coronavirus pandemic´s disruption to global air travel as it battles the impact of the coronavirus.
Thai Airways will continue to operate cargo flights, and is ready to operate repatriation flights to pick up stranded travellers should governments require it.
