Earlier this year, Crosta & Mollica successfully introduced its chilled pizza range to Tesco stores, marking a pivotal moment for the brand. Building on this success, the company is now expanding its selection, adding four of its best-selling sourdough pizzas to the Tesco lineup. These newly introduced flavours include Stromboli, distinguished by its spicy salami, the Fiorentina which incorporates mushroom, spinach, and creamy garlic, the Regina featuring prosciutto, mushrooms, and mozzarella, and the classic Margherita.
Available from this week, these pizzas will be distributed across up to 650 Tesco stores nationwide and can also be purchased online. This move is in line with Crosta & Mollica’s strategy to capitalise on the brand’s solid performance since its initial launch in May. At that time, the brand’s offerings included several varieties such as Formaggi, Pinsa Roman tomato and mozzarella, Pinsa Roman salami and mozzarella, and a ready-to-top pizza base, all of which received positive consumer feedback.
Elena Connell, UK Sales Director at Crosta & Mollica, articulated the company’s excitement about this development, highlighting the significant growth in both value and volume sales over the past year. The increase in sales by over 50% year on year reflects the brand’s successful penetration in the market and the high demand for their authentic Italian product range.
