Tapfreight, a leading chemical transport specialist, has recently enhanced its logistical operations by acquiring 11 new trailers from Schmitz Cargobull, replacing their previous units from a different manufacturer. This strategic decision signifies a notable shift towards optimising their fleet with products that promise quality and efficiency.
The newly acquired S.CS Fixed Roof curtainsider semi-trailers will be paired with Tapfreight’s DAF and Mercedes-Benz tractor units, reinforcing the company’s capacity to deliver both chemical goods and general freight throughout the UK effectively. These trailers are designed to provide a robust solution, featuring a straight front wall which facilitates free side loading and tarpaulin tensioning, an XL load securing side curtain with standard anti-theft protection, and an innovative Schmitz Cargobull aluminium roof, which offers a side loading height of 3,100mm.
Bob Milton, the director at Tapfreight, has expressed profound satisfaction with these new acquisitions. Milton stated, “These are the first trailers we have had from Schmitz Cargobull and we’ve been hugely impressed from start to finish. The price point was very appealing and when I went to inspect the trailers, I was really struck by the build quality. Now we have physically taken delivery of the trailers that quality has been reinforced.” Such endorsement underscores the potential benefits that these trailers offer in terms of cost-effectiveness and structural integrity.
One of the pivotal attributes of Schmitz Cargobull’s service, as noted by Milton, is the lead time, which Tapfreight found particularly advantageous. Additionally, the level of customer service rendered was described as first-class, further solidifying the burgeoning partnership between Tapfreight and Schmitz Cargobull.
Tapfreight’s transition to Schmitz Cargobull trailers reflects a calculated decision to enhance operational efficacy and service reliability.
