T.Quality has initiated the use of the first batch of 26 rigid trucks, marking a significant step in their logistics operations. The trucks, aimed to cover approximately 40,000 miles annually, are stationed at several key facilities including Birmingham, Darlington, and Swindon. This strategic move is expected to optimise their delivery processes extensively.
The fleet features a bespoke split-load body design developed in partnership with Fraikin in 2021. This innovative approach has set a new precedent for practicality and safety, thereby encouraging its adoption across all 22 15-tonne and 4 18-tonne trucks. T.Quality’s decision to integrate this design reflects a forward-thinking approach to logistical challenges.
Ninel Diaconu, the national fleet manager at T.Quality, praised the collaborative efforts with Fraikin, stating that their drivers have experienced significant benefits in terms of delivery speed and safety. The simplicity brought by the split-load design has reduced maintenance downtime, thereby boosting operational efficiency.
Each truck incorporates a refrigeration unit at the front and an ambient compartment at the rear, a configuration that not only maintains optimal temperatures but also simplifies maintenance by eliminating the need for extensive piping. This results in lower maintenance costs and increased vehicle uptime.
In addition to the split-load design, the trucks are fitted with several safety enhancements. These include specially designed load restraints and easy-access points, further amplifying the safety measures during operations. The comprehensive full-service package provided by Fraikin ensures these vehicles remain in optimal condition, supported by a robust maintenance and support network.
