A recent poll conducted by a specialist agency highlights an optimistic trend in luxury cruising for 2024. It was found that nearly 50% of those surveyed plan to increase their expenditure on luxury cruises. This enthusiasm is supported by 86% of respondents who anticipate spending as much as they did in the previous year, if not more.
The survey involved 1,700 customers, revealing a promising scenario with almost all participants (90%) expressing their intention to embark on a cruise in 2024. Notably, half of those surveyed showed interest in participating in more than one cruise during the year.
In terms of booking preferences, 55% of respondents indicated that January is the likely time they would finalise their travel plans. Meanwhile, the survey also showed diverse cruising arrangements, with 12% opting to cruise solo, 10% with larger groups of friends, another 10% with family, and a majority preferring to cruise with their partners.
The Mediterranean, Europe, and the Caribbean have emerged as the top destinations for potential cruisers, with Australia, Asia, South America, Alaska, and the Polar regions also piquing significant interest.
The founder and chief executive of the agency was quoted acknowledging the success of 2023 and expressing cautious optimism for the year ahead. He highlighted the eagerness of customers to maintain or increase their spending on cruises despite looming political and economic uncertainties.
