The Explora Journeys fleet witnessed a momentous occasion with the naming of its second ship, Explora II, at the port of Civitavecchia, near Rome. This event marks a significant milestone, furthering the fleet’s expansion and dedication to luxury maritime experiences.
Rosalba Giugni, renowned for her lifelong dedication to marine conservation as the founder and president of the Marevivo Foundation, was chosen to lead the ship’s naming ceremony. Her decades-long commitment to ocean preservation underscored the choice to have her as the ceremony’s figurehead.
Following the christening, Explora II embarked on an inaugural seven-night voyage. This journey took the vessel from the port of Civitavecchia to Tarragona in Spain, with stops at picturesque destinations such as Sorrento, Lipari, Trapani, Siracusa, and Valletta, offering an enriching Mediterranean experience.
The winter season will see Explora II and its sister ship repositioning to the Caribbean, before making a return to the western Mediterranean for the summer. This itinerary ensures guests experience diverse and sought-after destinations, maintaining an impressive standard of service and luxury.
