Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, alongside Emerald Cruises, is reinforcing its UK sales team through strategic reorganisation.
- Jonathan Davies has been promoted to head of sales, bringing his substantial experience to the helm immediately.
- The newly structured sales team will prioritise national rather than regional relationships, enhancing contact consistency for agents.
- Further investments include expanded training programmes and imminent personnel additions anticipated before 2025.
- These changes underscore the company’s commitment to strengthening ties with UK travel agents and partners.
Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, along with Emerald Cruises, has taken a decisive step to enhance its operations within the UK sales sector by promoting Jonathan Davies to the pivotal role of head of sales. Davies’ promotion is effective immediately, and he will directly report to Nick Hughes, director of sales, partnerships, and strategic growth. Davies, who has been integral to the company’s growth strategy for over two years, is anticipated to leverage his profound expertise in leading the on-the-road sales team.
This team comprises national key account manager Wendi Hardy and sales managers Lewis Quigley, William Young, and Danny Joel. Hughes expressed his enthusiasm for Davies’ advancement, recognising his commercial insight, leadership skills, and invaluable relationships as fundamental to the organisation’s continued success.
The reorganisation of the sales team marks a strategic shift. While the account managers will continue to nurture relationships with agents, their focus will no longer be confined to specific regions. Instead, they will engage with accounts dispersed across the UK, ensuring a more consistent and unified point of contact for agents. This approach is expected to streamline operations and enhance the overall efficiency of the sales process.
In alignment with these structural changes, Scenic has also announced plans for considerable investments aimed at augmenting its training programmes. Such initiatives are planned to fortify the skillset of the sales force, ensuring top-notch support is provided to both travel agents and tour operators. Of note is the anticipation of new hires, which the company aims to have in place prior to 2025, further strengthening its team.
Nick Hughes further articulated the company’s commitment to its trade partners, emphasising that the new sales team configuration is not merely a structural adjustment but a deliberate effort to position the company as a leading provider of offers, support, and training in the industry. Hughes stated, “We’ve put huge effort into working much more closely with our valued trade partners this year.”
These strategic enhancements underscore Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours’ dedication to reinforcing its industry presence and supporting its partners effectively.
