An £11m renovation project led by Willmott Dixon Interiors is set to transform the accident and emergency department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. This significant undertaking seeks to expand and enhance the healthcare facilities within the hospital’s Millennium Wing, ensuring improved service delivery and operational capacity in the A&E sector.
The refurbishment, carried out by Willmott Dixon’s fit-out and refurbishment division, involves an extensive overhaul of the internal infrastructure. This includes the complete removal and replacement of walls, ceilings, and flooring within the building, along with comprehensive updates to the building services. Furthermore, the project encompasses new furniture, fixtures, and equipment, which will collectively contribute to an enhanced environment for both patients and staff.
This ambitious project was secured through the Scape procurement agency. By coordinating all aspects of the refurbishment, Willmott Dixon Interiors strives to uphold the standards expected from their ongoing collaboration with University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. “Over recent years, we’ve enhanced multiple healthcare environments on behalf of UHSussex,” stated Roger Forsdyke, chief operations officer at the company, affirming the commitment to advancing healthcare service quality and capacity.
