The anticipation surrounding Royal Caribbean’s latest addition to its fleet, the Star of the Seas, is palpable as it promises to redefine the cruising experience. Catering to over 5,600 passengers, this new vessel carries forward the legacy of her sister ship, Icon of the Seas, which began service at the start of the year. With an initial scheduled launch facing delays, the Star of the Seas is now poised to offer seven-day cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida, commencing on August 31, 2025.
The initial voyages planned for the Star of the Seas were temporarily set back due to delays in the ship’s delivery, prompting the cancellation of two sailings. However, this setback hasn’t deterred Royal Caribbean’s commitment to providing unique holiday offerings. Cruisers can look forward to the company’s Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, a featured destination on the ship’s itinerary, promising exceptional excursions.
Enhancements to the ship’s design include updates to renowned dining locations, such as the introduction of the 1930s Chicago-inspired Lincoln Park Supper Club, replacing the previous Empire Supper Club. These tweaks, alongside a plethora of recreational options, including six waterslides, seven pools, and luxurious neighbourhoods, ensure a variety-filled cruising experience.
Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, enthusiastically described the Star of the Seas as ushering in a new era of holidays. He stated that this new venture amalgamates the best elements of previous vacation models, offering customers an unrivalled combination of beach retreats, resort escapes, and theme park adventures. This strategic positioning aims to attract a wider audience between Miami and Port Canaveral, enhancing the cruise line’s prominence in popular travel corridors.
Star of the Seas embodies Royal Caribbean’s vision of delivering a multifaceted holiday that will create lasting memories.
