Royal Caribbean Group has announced a significant expansion of its fleet by commissioning a new ship from French shipbuilder, Chantiers de l’Atlantique. This ship will be the seventh in the renowned Oasis class, marking a notable addition to the company’s offerings. The vessel is expected to be delivered and integrated into the fleet by 2028, further enhancing the group’s capacity to provide luxurious cruise experiences.

Following the recent introduction of three new vessels—Silver Nova, Celebrity Ascent, and Icon of the Seas—the company is steadfast in its mission to offer unparalleled vacation experiences. Jason Liberty, the president and chief executive officer of the group, expressed the company’s excitement for the upcoming debut of Utopia of the Seas and the subsequent planning of its sister ship.

This project, which Bayley refers to as creating a “remarkable class of ships,” underscores the collaborative efforts between the two entities to deliver high-quality ocean cruises. In his words, “These are exciting times, and we have an incredible partner in Chantiers de l’Atlantique to bring to life the lucky seventh Oasis class vessel.”
However, this development is contingent upon securing the necessary financial arrangements, anticipated to be finalised later this year. The financial component is a critical milestone that will pave the way for the construction and eventual launch of the ship. This planned expansion comes on the heels of the recent high-profile naming ceremony for Icon of the Seas, which featured a special appearance by football icon Lionel Messi.
