Riviera Travel recently orchestrated its inaugural trade engagement committee meeting, marking a significant step towards enhancing interaction with travel agents. This event, hosted at the London Renaissance Hotel, was presided over by the CEO Phil Hullah, channel director Stuart Milan, and head of trade Tom Morgan.
The gathering saw the participation of ten carefully selected agents, who were chosen following an open application procedure conducted through social media platforms. During this meeting, the agents engaged in discussions focusing on Riviera Travel’s current trade initiatives and explored future collaborative prospects. Their dialogue aimed at fostering a more robust partnership framework that could enhance their business operations.
The strategic move behind forming this committee is to catalyse the expansion of the river cruising and escorted tours market segments, thus supporting Riviera Travel’s ambition of becoming the most trade-friendly brand within the industry. The committee is composed of a diverse group of individuals, including influential figures from various travel agencies and advisors like Zoe Franklin from Travel Club Elite and Tricia Hughes from Inteletravel.
Tom Morgan, encapsulating the event’s productive outcome, expressed his gratitude towards the participating agents, noting the inception of constructive ideas and avenues for closer collaboration. Morgan emphasised the pivotal role of keeping agents well-informed and at ease while selling river cruises, underlining the importance of their feedback.
The insights and valuable suggestions drawn from this meeting have been earmarked for the development of a comprehensive action plan, which aims to solidify the discussed strategies into practical and executable steps.
Riviera Travel’s first trade engagement committee meeting is poised to significantly bolster its trade relations with agents.
