Riviera Travel has announced the return of its trade engagement committee scheduled for February 2025. This initiative, originally established in 2023, serves as a platform for retail agents, homeworkers, and online travel agencies (OTAs) to communicate their insights directly. This semi-annual gathering underscores Riviera’s dedication to fostering transparent dialogue with its trade partners.
Feedback from prior meetings has prompted Riviera to modify its business practices. Notable among these changes is the introduction of the ‘Riviera Explorer’, an e-learning platform crafted to bolster agents’ understanding of the brand. This digital tool represents a significant investment aimed at enhancing trade support through improved knowledge dissemination.
Additionally, Riviera has adjusted the timeline for product launches, extending the period to three to four weeks. This adjustment is intended to provide agents with ample opportunity to absorb new information and effectively relay this to their clients.
Another strategic decision involves encouraging customers to consult their travel agents for future bookings while offering a welcome home discount. These initiatives reflect Riviera’s strategy of enhancing customer-agent interactions, thereby facilitating smoother travel planning.
Vicky Billing, UK & Ireland head of trade and partnerships, highlighted the committee’s significance as part of Riviera’s strategic framework. “We aim to align our actions with our trade partners’ needs,” she stated, emphasising the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives into their business model.
Margaret McCorriston from Hays Travel praised the committee as an exceptional forum for knowledge exchange, citing the value placed on agent contributions. This collaborative environment not only validates the feedback provided but also fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
Riviera Travel’s proactive approach in reinvigorating its trade relationships through the committee reflects its commitment to adapt and innovate.
