Riviera Travel has officially announced the launch of its tall-ship ocean cruise programme set for 2025. This ambitious venture introduces three new departure offerings and six itineraries aboard the renowned Star Clipper and Royal Clipper vessels. Designed for discerning travellers, these cruises are scheduled between April and September 2025, visiting picturesque destinations such as Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Spain, and Malta.
Among the newly introduced itineraries for 2025, the Spain, Balearics, and Malta cruise promises an 11-night immersive journey. It includes a one-night pre-cruise stay in Malaga, nine nights aboard the Star Clipper, and a final night post-cruise stay in Malta. Additionally, the Aegean Odyssey comprises a 10-night voyage featuring a two-night stay in Istanbul, seven nights on the Star Clipper, and a concluding overnight in Athens. Another new offering is the Malta, Sicily, and Greece itinerary, enhancing Riviera’s diverse selection.
The Star Clipper, featuring 16 sails, offers a unique sailing experience with 83 cabins accommodating up to 166 guests supported by 74 crew members. This ship is equipped with two salt-water swimming pools, a sun deck, a restaurant, a tropical-themed outdoor bar, a library, and a lounge.
In contrast, the larger Royal Clipper, boasting 42 sails, houses 114 cabins accommodating up to 227 guests along with 106 crew members. Known as the largest square-rigged ship in service, it includes three salt-water swimming pools, a sun deck, multiple dining options, as well as fitness and relaxation facilities.
For 2024, Riviera Travel plans to operate an innovative Croatian Coast yacht cruise, including 10 sailings from May to October. The nine-night Venice, Split & Treasures of the North itinerary features a two-night hotel stay in Venice and a seven-night cruise on the MS Stella Maris, visiting Croatia’s notable sights.
In a strategic move, Riviera Travel announced the appointment of Will Sarson as the new head of product river and ocean cruise. Sarson, with vast experience in product strategy and long-haul travel, succeeds Katja Hildebrandt, who departs after 16 years, signalling a fresh direction for the company’s cruise itineraries.
