Riviera Travel is set to enhance its offerings with the introduction of two new river ships, the Riviera Radiance and the Riviera Rose, scheduled to enter service in spring 2025. The announcement marks a significant expansion in their river cruising portfolio. The ships will collectively operate over 60 departures during the summer 2025 season.
The Riviera Radiance, a vessel with a capacity for 178 passengers, will feature six distinct itineraries along the illustrious Danube River. These itineraries vary in length, from six days to 15 days, and are set to commence between April and December. Notably, the eight-day Blue Danube cruise will bring travellers to culturally rich cities such as Vienna, Durnstein, Budapest, and Bratislava, with fares starting at £1,849. A special solo traveller version of this itinerary is available from £2,599.
For those seeking a more extended journey, the 15-day voyage from Budapest to the Black Sea stands out, incorporating guided tours of landmarks including Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanassi, the Churches of Ivanovo, Belogradchik Rock, and Lepenski Vir, starting at £3,999. Additionally, an eight-day Christmas-themed cruise on the Danube will traverse destinations such as Bratislava, Wachau Valley, Melk, Salzburg, Linz, Vienna, and Budapest, with pricing from £2,399.
Meanwhile, the Riviera Rose will be exclusively cruising the Douro River with a dedicated itinerary named ‘Highlights of the Douro Valley & Salamanca’. Starting from 1 April 2025, this eight-day cruise will provide an immersive experience visiting Porto’s historic old town, the renowned Mateus Palace, and the scenic Castelo Rodrigo, all for a starting price of £2,099.
Bookings for these meticulously crafted itineraries will open on February 29. Will Sarson, Head of Product at Riviera Travel, noted the potential appeal of these new voyages, as they are designed to captivate both seasoned cruisers and newcomers alike. Sarson emphasised their dedication to inclusive travel, highlighted by a specialised solo sailing offering. The expansion on the Douro River is also strategically aligned with the company’s commitment to offering tailored experiences on water routes beloved by many passengers.
These new itineraries offer distinctive experiences that cater to diverse traveller preferences, enhancing Riviera Travel’s river cruise portfolio.
