Riviera Travel is undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment of its river cruise ship, the Lord Byron, ahead of the approaching European summer cruise season. The 140-passenger vessel will see all of its 74 cabins renovated, alongside updates to the restaurants and public spaces to provide an inviting atmosphere for guests.
The refurbishment includes the installation of new furniture and carpets, signalling Riviera Travel’s commitment to enhancing the cruise experience. This initiative is being carried out at a shipyard located in Chalon, France, and is indicative of the company’s ongoing investment in quality and comfort.
Built in 2013, the Lord Byron is set to begin its refreshed operations on the Rhone river starting in April. This move comes as part of Riviera Travel’s broader strategy to maintain a competitive edge in the river cruise market by prioritising passenger satisfaction.
Riviera’s head of product, Will Sarson, emphasised the significance of these updates by stating, “These improvements to our much-loved ship Lord Byron will enhance the overall guest experience. From fresh touches in the cabins to new decor in the restaurant and public spaces, we are looking forward to providing a warm and appealing environment for all guests who sail with us.”
In addition to the refurbishment of the Lord Byron, Riviera is preparing to expand its fleet with the introduction of Riviera Rose and Riviera Radiance in 2025. This expansion underscores the company’s commitment to growth and sustained innovation within the river cruise industry.
