Riviera Travel has taken a significant step by launching a trade engagement committee to strengthen support for travel agents.
- The initiative follows a revealing survey where travel agents rated various aspects of Riviera’s services highly, but identified room for improvement in river cruise confidence.
- The committee aims for biannual meetings to solicit feedback on product development, marketing, and other essential areas.
- Riviera Travel’s commitment is evident as it reaffirms relationships with high street agencies, homeworkers, call centres, and online platforms.
- The professional community eagerly anticipates the announcement of successful committee applicants next month.
Riviera Travel recently inaugurated a travel agent engagement committee, an initiative designed to reinforce support mechanisms for agents. This move is an outcome of insights gained from a comprehensive survey that invited agents to evaluate elements of Riviera’s service delivery. With 97% of agents rating ease of booking with four or more out of five, the survey underscored strengths in this area, alongside high scores in social content quality and trade friendliness. However, the necessity to enhance agents’ confidence in selling river cruises was marked, steering Riviera’s future focus.
To address these insights, the committee will convene twice annually, fostering an environment for agents to voice constructive feedback, share opinions, and propose ideas on enhancing agency support. These gatherings will provide a platform for dialogue on product development, marketing strategies, training programs, and incentive initiatives, aiming to refine Riviera’s offerings to better meet agent needs.
Riviera Travel’s head of trade, Tom Morgan, emphasised the pivotal role of travel agents in achieving Riviera’s business objectives, stating: ‘We recognise the vital role that travel agents play in Riviera’s success.’ He articulated Riviera’s continuous quest for improvement, noting that the newly formed committee is integral to realising this ambition. This initiative highlights Riviera’s dedication to fostering robust partnerships with diverse agency types including high street, remote, and digital platforms.
This establishment of a committee is part of a broader strategy to fortify Riviera’s market presence, as evidenced by its recent re-engagement with CLIA. By joining forces with this organisation, Riviera aims to amplify its brand recognition across the UK and Ireland’s travel trade, thereby aligning itself with an influential network of cruise lines and travel professionals.
Riviera Travel’s committee launch marks a strategic shift towards enhancing agent collaboration and service improvement.
