Riviera Travel has strategically appointed Amanda Docherty as the key account manager for homeworkers. Her appointment is a clear indicator of Riviera’s commitment to enhancing support for remote-working travel agents. Amanda’s extensive experience with TUI UK & Ireland, Carnival UK, and Celebrity Cruises will be invaluable in this newly created position. Reporting directly to Vicky Billing, head of trade and partnerships, Docherty’s role emphasizes the importance Riviera places on the homeworker segment.
Vicky Billing stated, “We are thrilled that Amanda is joining us in this new role. We understand that homeworkers require a more tailored approach in terms of support and believe this step will ensure they have all they need to learn more about Riviera and drive sales.” Her comments highlight the tailored strategies Riviera Travel is implementing to support homeworking agents, thereby ensuring they possess all necessary resources to not only understand Riviera’s offerings better but also increase sales potential.
This appointment follows the recent inclusion of Chris McCloskey and Lloyd Morris into Riviera’s sales team earlier this year. These strategic hires demonstrate Riviera’s forward-thinking approach in expanding its market influence across different UK regions. McCloskey is focusing on Scotland and Ireland, while Morris manages accounts across the entire UK and Ireland, illustrating a comprehensive restructuring of the team.
Docherty herself expressed excitement about joining Riviera at this pivotal time, calling it an “exciting challenge”. This enthusiasm is mirrored by Riviera’s announcement to host 100 agents through familiarisation trips throughout 2024. These trips, which will cover itineraries on major rivers like the Rhone and the Seine, provide a hands-on opportunity for agents to engage deeply with Riviera’s services and offerings.
Riviera Travel’s strategic appointments and initiatives underscore its commitment to cultivating strong partnerships with remote-working agents.
