Regent Seven Seas Cruises has unveiled an ambitious agent training programme, named ‘RSSC University’, designed to significantly enhance the proficiency and capabilities of travel agents. This initiative is aimed at making the agents more proficient in selling Regent cruises by offering an array of courses tailored to meet different levels of expertise. The programme represents a strategic investment in the development of trade relationships and seeks to set Regent apart from other cruise lines.
The programme comprises a series of courses, starting with an introduction to the brand, leading to more detailed product knowledge and sales strategies. Core courses provide agents with a foundational understanding of the brand, while elective courses offer in-depth insights into specific offerings such as land programmes. Graduate-level courses explore the typical Regent clientele and its culinary experiences.
Upon completion of the courses, agents can achieve various status levels, beginning with ‘associate’, progressing to ‘bachelor’, and culminating in ‘master’ level. Notably, agents can earn £300 by becoming a master graduate and securing a booking within 100 days of completing the course. This system of recognition not only fosters a competitive spirit but also reinforces the agents’ expertise and commitment to the brand.
Caroline Smith, international managing director, emphasized the programme’s depth, highlighting the comprehensive nature of resources provided, including cheat sheets, webinars, and toolkits. Smith’s tenure since December 2022 has been marked by this pivotal advancement, underscoring the company’s dedication to equipping its agents with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.
Paul Beale, vice-president of UK sales, hailed the programme as a testament to Regent’s dedication to supporting travel partners and expanding their offerings in the luxury cruise market. His endorsement further illustrates Regent’s strategic vision to elevate agent performance and foster profitable partnerships.
The launch of RSSC University marks a transformative moment in Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ effort to empower and educate travel agents.
