Brilliant Travel, part of Barrhead Travel, has witnessed a remarkable uptick in its home-based agents’ sales, achieving record-breaking figures throughout the year. A consistent 35% rise in trading from the previous year has been reported, indicating a thriving environment for their workers. This impressive growth is largely attributed to the demand for cruise, long-haul, and summer getaways, which continue to be favoured among clients.
Interestingly, the trend of last-minute bookings has gained significant momentum, making up 20% of bookings for trips scheduled before the end of May. Denise O’Connor, one of the standout homeworkers, highlighted the burgeoning demand from both new and returning clients. After switching to full-time travel work following part-time employment at a supermarket due to the pandemic, O’Connor expressed excitement about the renewed focus on her travel career, buoyed by ongoing client interest.
Director Linda Pyle emphasised the collective success of the agents, noting that many have reported sequential months of record-breaking achievements. The rise in client spend and holiday durations are significant factors driving this success, as clients readily opt for multiple holidays annually.
Furthermore, the expansion of Brilliant Travel’s product offerings has strengthened its position in the market. The introduction of Barrhead Travel’s USA and Touring & Adventure divisions has played a crucial role in enhancing tailor-made booking options, contributing to the division’s sustained sales growth. As Brilliant Travel continues to recruit, the homeworking and Managed Service Travel Partner divisions are on track for continued success.
