As many as 90 ships are expected to berth, bringing with them a significant influx of approximately 155,000 passengers. This marks a substantial increase in activity compared to previous years, signalling the port’s rising popularity and strategic importance.
The port’s navigation of this bustling schedule commences with Saga Cruises calling on January 4, heralding the start of an intensive itinerary. This is strategically planned to optimize the flow of both passengers and vessels throughout the year. Among the noteworthy visitors set to dock is the Norwegian Star, a colossal vessel from Norwegian Cruise Line, which is anticipated to be the largest ship to ever enter Portsmouth’s harbour upon its arrival in May. This arrival highlights the port’s capacity to accommodate larger vessels, reflecting on its infrastructural advancements.
Moreover, the year will see first-time calls from notable operators such as Regent Seven Seas Cruises and the French line, Compagnie Française de Croisières, scheduled for June and April, respectively.
