- Playtech’s revenue increased by 5%, with post-tax profits rising considerably.
- Snaitech’s sale is part of Playtech’s strategic refocus on core operations.
Playtech’s enhanced financial performance has led the company to revise its earnings forecast upwards, reflecting its robust business-to-business (B2B) division growth. The anticipated shareholder payout, amounting to €1.7 billion, follows the strategic divestment of its Italian arm, Snaitech, to Flutter Entertainment.
A significant driver of Playtech’s success during this period was the substantial growth within its B2B division, described as ‘excellent’ by the company. This sector’s performance played a pivotal role in the 11 per cent rise in adjusted EBITDA to €243 million for the first half of the year, demonstrating the effectiveness of its operational strategies.
Playtech’s financial metrics have shown notable improvement, with revenues increasing from €859.6 million to €906.8 million. Concurrently, the post-tax profit has seen a remarkable 23 per cent increase, reaching €105.4 million. These figures underscore the firm’s capability to scale efficiently within its operational framework.
The sale of Snaitech, valued at €2.3 billion, facilitates Playtech’s plan to return a significant portion of the proceeds to its shareholders while also addressing debt obligations with a €350 million bond payment. Although Snaitech’s revenues dipped slightly, the transaction aligns with Playtech’s efforts to streamline and concentrate on its core business segments.
Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer, highlighted the strategic focus on expanding its North American presence, where revenues have tripled, further underpinning Playtech’s optimistic future outlook. According to Weizer, ‘our strategy focuses on growth, leveraging our strong balance sheet and team strengths.’
Playtech’s strategic decisions and operational excellence forecast a promising future, affirming shareholder value.
