In a determined effort to bolster the resources of the Midlands Air Ambulance, Pallet-Track has committed to raising a substantial £75,000. This ambitious undertaking aims to finance the procurement of a new critical care car, which will be a vital addition to the services provided by the air ambulance. The additional vehicle will significantly aid in supporting the charity’s nighttime operations, ensuring the availability of 24-hour emergency medical services.
To date, Pallet-Track has successfully garnered nearly 65% of the required funds, equating to £48,142. This impressive achievement has been realized through a series of well-organised fundraising activities, which have included their annual shareholder gala, a golf day, a cycle ride from hub to hub and a charity casino night. The support from colleagues and members of the pallet network has been instrumental in reaching this level of funding.
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity faces substantial operational costs, amounting to up to £14 million annually, to maintain its three aircraft and fleet of critical care cars. Amongst these expenses, each air ambulance mission incurs an average cost of £2,950, whereas a critical care car mission is considerably less expensive at £288 on average. This financial backdrop underscores the importance of Pallet-Track’s fundraising efforts in sustaining the charity’s lifesaving missions.
Jon Cottrell, senior partnerships executive at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, remarked on the efforts, emphasising the charity’s reliance on the advanced crew of critical care paramedics and doctors who respond to 12 missions daily.
