Pall-Ex has introduced its new third-party logistics (3PL) division, which it hails as a ‘game-changer’ for the freight industry. This innovative initiative is designed to enable Pall-Ex members to pursue new business opportunities by offering comprehensive storage solutions. Incorporating over 250,000 storage spaces distributed across more than 100 locations, the network facilitates both short and long-term storage needs. Each location has been meticulously vetted and audited to assure customers of the highest standards. Moreover, the network provides ambient, chilled, frozen, external, and bonded storage options, catering to a wide variety of products.
The strategic intent behind the new 3PL network is to expand Pall-Ex’s capabilities beyond its existing UK pallet networks. The flagship warehouse in Northampton stands as a central component, offering state-of-the-art facilities for diverse storage requirements. Members can leverage these resources to explore untapped markets and bolster their competitive edge. Carl White, Pall-Ex’s warehouse and logistics director, is poised to lead the launch at the Multimodal event, highlighting the company’s evolution to encompass comprehensive logistics solutions.
Managing Director Barry Byers emphasised that innovation is deeply embedded in Pall-Ex’s culture. By overlaying the 3PL network onto the existing palletised freight systems, shareholder members across the UK can now engage in previously inaccessible business opportunities. The initiative is set to offer market-leading solutions for businesses in need of multi-location or strategically positioned storage options across the UK and Europe. Such advancements are poised to redefine industry standards, supported by Pall-Ex’s expertise and cutting-edge technology.
In a bid to overcome post-Brexit challenges, Pall-Ex has also launched a network in the Republic of Ireland. The new network offers a tangible solution to navigate customs and border restrictions, establishing a ‘permanent post-Brexit solution’. Furthermore, Pall-Ex’s streamlined European distribution service seeks to alleviate the complexities associated with transporting goods across the EU. By offering seamless freight clearance solutions, Pall-Ex aims to minimise logistical stresses for businesses.
The integration of Pall-Ex Group’s five owned operations under the Pall-Ex Logistics umbrella further underscores the company’s commitment to delivering consolidated logistics solutions. This structural integration paves the way for enhanced operational efficiency and service delivery across Intercounty Distribution, Pall-Ex Logistics (Basildon), Shears Brothers Transport, For-Ex Distribution Network Services, and Cranleigh Distribution Services.
Pall-Ex’s strategic expansions and innovative logistics solutions mark a significant milestone in the freight community.
