Pall-Ex, a distinguished logistics company based in Leicestershire, has been acknowledged for its pioneering approach to Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training. At the recent Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB) Safety Summit Awards, Pall-Ex was celebrated for its exceptional training programmes.
Held at Manchester Airport’s Radisson Blu hotel, the ceremony marked the inaugural RTITB awards, where Pall-Ex emerged victorious in the Outstanding Training Team category. This victory highlights Pall-Ex’s commitment to investing in its training infrastructure, positioning itself as a leader in the transport industry.
Pall-Ex’s CPC Academy was launched a year ago, becoming the first UK pallet network to provide in-house CPC training to all its operational staff and members within the UK. The programme, devised by renowned professional Craig Brown, consists of two comprehensive modules deliverable in one day. Majority of the training is conducted in-person, complemented by online sessions, ensuring flexibility and minimal disruption to the typical driving schedules by being held on weekends.
The academy’s curriculum is distinguished by its inclusion of practical exercises and driver engagement sessions, all using ISO-accredited materials, delivered either at Pall-Ex’s central location or remotely. Craig Brown, a former Troop Sergeant Major in the British Army’s Parachute Regiment, has brought a wealth of experience to the academy, enhancing its offerings with his expertise in logistics and leadership.
To date, the CPC Academy has successfully instructed 150 drivers and is on track to train up to 250 by the end of the year. Each participant receives a certificate of attendance, and their training records are promptly updated, underscoring Pall-Ex’s commitment to professional driver development.
This recognition at the RTITB Safety Summit Awards underscores Pall-Ex’s leadership in elevating driver training standards.
