In a strategic move to bolster its sales efforts, Oceania Cruises has announced the appointment of Vanessa Gondar as its new sales manager for the south. This appointment is expected to further strengthen Oceania’s position within the cruise market, particularly in the southern region where Gondar will concentrate her efforts.
Gondar joins Oceania with a wealth of experience from her previous role as an account manager at Disney Cruise Line and her time at Walt Disney World. Her extensive knowledge in the cruise industry and travel sector is anticipated to bring fresh insights and dynamic strategies to the Oceania team.
The sales team, including Alex Farquharson, Lisa Clarkson, and Sharon Wilson, is now reported to be fully operational. They will collectively report to Louise Craddock, the sales director for the UK and Ireland, who has been a notable figure within the organisation for over a decade. This cohesive team structure is intended to deliver outstanding support to Oceania Cruises’ valued trade partners, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Louise Craddock expressed her enthusiasm for Gondar’s addition to the team, stating, “I am delighted that Vanessa is joining our UK and Ireland sales team at such an exciting time for Oceania Cruises. Vanessa has extensive cruise experience which, alongside her dynamic thinking, makes her the perfect addition to the Oceania team.” Her endorsement highlights the confidence Oceania places in Gondar’s capabilities to enhance their sales operations.
In addition to staffing news, Oceania has named celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis as the godmother of their latest ship, Vista. The ship is scheduled for a formal naming ceremony in Valletta, Malta, on 8 May 2023, marking another significant milestone for the cruise line. Furthermore, the announcement of Oceania’s second Allura-class ship, Allura, under construction in Italy, with its maiden voyage slated for spring 2025, underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its fleet and enhancing passenger experience.
These strategic developments signify a promising future for Oceania Cruises.
