NRTC named James (Jim) DaBramo as president of its Broadband Solutions division (formerly Pulse Communications), effective Jan. 6, 2020, the company said.
Jim comes to NRTC from LICT Corporation, an integrated provider of broadband, voice, video and wireless services, where he oversaw the operations of eleven rural telephone and communications services companies across the country. Jim is replacing Eric Freesmeier who is retiring at the end of the year.
Jim will lead NRTC´s extensive work with telephone and electric members to build fiber and wireless broadband networks. The Broadband Solutions division works closely with its members in all phases of broadband deployment, including business planning, design, engineering, procurement, deployment, and operations. NRTC has performed over 175 feasibility studies and helped members deploy nearly USD 1.5 billion in capital for more than 25 separate rural projects nationwide.
Jim´s experience includes four years as chief operating officer of LICT, as well as senior leadership roles at fixed wireless provider Airband Inc., and in the VoIP and telecom services assurance businesses at IBBS (now Momentum Telecom).
NRTC´s products and services are developed specifically to meet the needs of rural utilities and their customers, and include integrated smart grid and utility solutions, advanced energy, broadband infrastructure and managed network services, wireless technologies, and programming distribution capabilities for video providers.
