Norwegian Cruise Line has embarked on an unprecedented initiative by hosting 1,500 travel agents for ship visits, spanning five of their acclaimed ships between May and October 2023. This strategic endeavour is set to unfold across nine locations in the UK and Ireland, namely Greenock, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton, Newhaven, Tilbury, Belfast, Dun Laoghaire, and Cobh, thereby reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing exceptional service experiences.
These ship visits offer invaluable opportunities for agents to engage with the fleet’s facilities and services, particularly on the Norwegian Prima, which is among the newest additions to their cruising options, having launched in 2022. The initiative also includes the Norwegian Getaway, part of the Breakaway class introduced in 2014, alongside the Jewel and Dawn class vessels—comprising Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Gem.
Gary Anslow, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Senior Sales Director, articulated that these ship visits are integral to enhancing brand knowledge. They provide the agency partners with unparalleled insights into the product offerings, thus fostering stronger relational ties and informed discussions on industry advancements and new ship launches.
The company has further expanded its strategic focus with the appointment of Sabrina Greca as International Senior Corporate Sales Manager. Her role is pivotal in amplifying sales within the meetings, incentive, conference, and events sector, recognising the vast potential that still exists in the UK and Ireland markets for such corporate engagements.
In echoing the importance of this outreach, Gary Anslow remarked on the substantial business opportunities that charters and onboard events represent, particularly in North America and select international markets, which are yet to be fully realised in the UK and Ireland.
This initiative underscores Norwegian Cruise Line’s strategic commitment to fortifying relationships with travel agents, enhancing their grasp of NCL’s offerings.
