The upcoming Clia annual conference, slated to take place in Southampton from 23rd to 25th May, initially piqued significant interest, selling out within just 48 hours. However, due to the addition of P&O Cruises’ Britannia to the event’s line-up, more spaces have now become available, offering additional opportunities for agents to attend.
The conference was originally intended to feature six ships: Cunard’s Queen Anne, Silversea’s Silver Dawn, Princess Cruises’ Sky Princess, MSC Virtuosa, P&O Cruises’ Iona, and Fred Olsen’s Borealis. With the inclusion of Britannia, attendees now have access to a seventh vessel, enriching the potential for professional engagement and networking.
Expected to draw approximately 850 delegates, this year’s conference is set to be the largest in Clia’s history. Such a turnout underscores the heightened interest and optimism surrounding the cruise industry, as professionals look forward to exchanging insights and exploring new opportunities.
Andy Harmer, managing director for the UK & Ireland, expressed his excitement about the enlarged offerings, particularly acknowledging P&O Cruises for adding Britannia to the line-up. According to Harmer, the additional ship provides delegates with numerous onboard experiences to discover and enhances the conference’s appeal.
Harmer further mentioned that the conference serves as a quintessential platform for agents to connect with operators across all sectors of the cruise industry. It is seen as an opportunity to sustain the industry’s positive momentum and empower agents with the crucial knowledge and skills needed to satisfy their customer’s cruise aspirations.
The Clia conference, with its extended capacity and ship offerings, promises unparalleled experiences and learning opportunities for attending agents.
