Threat protection firm MSA Security has announced that it has become the first company certified under the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA)´s new third-party canine cargo program as a certified cargo security facility — canine (CCSF-K9), the company said.
The Third-Party Canine-Cargo Program was introduced by TSA under their Certified Cargo Screening Programs as a means to provide screening for air cargo in a safe and efficient manner. Under the new program, non-government entities, acting under TSA´s approval, can certify explosive detection canine teams from third-party providers. Certified canine teams can be deployed to screen cargo for aircraft operators, foreign air carriers, and other TSA-regulated parties operating under a TSA-approved security program.
MSA is America´s largest provider of explosive detection canines, featuring over 500 canine-handler teams active in the field.
MSA Security offers enterprise-level facilities from high consequence threats. MSA is headquartered in New York City and has over 1,000 employees–including over 500 explosive detection canine teams–operating in 42 states and 30 countries.
