Finnish machinery manufacturer Metso is poised to revolutionise the aggregate production industry with the launch of its diesel-electric crusher range. This innovative range is set to be introduced at the Hillhead 2024 exhibition, to be held in Buxton, Derbyshire from the 25th to the 27th of June. These crushers promise enhanced efficiency and performance, representing a significant advancement in aggregate processing.
Central to this unveiling are the Lokotrack EC LT400J and LT350C models. These machines will be launched through Metso’s new UK distributor, McHale Plant Sales. The LT400J is a substantial 68-tonne mobile jaw crusher crafted for primary crushing of hard rock and recycled aggregates, equipped with a Nordberg C120 jaw to ensure high capacity output. Meanwhile, the 50-tonne LT350C is designed for secondary and tertiary crushing, broadening the range of potential applications.
A key element of these crushers is their ability to combine diesel and electric power sources. According to Metso, when external electricity is available, the machinery can operate at high capacity while minimising both operational costs and CO2 emissions. In cases where electricity is not accessible, onboard diesel gensets provide autonomy and sufficient power to auxiliary units such as mobile screens and stackers. This dual power capability makes these crushers an adaptable solution in diverse scenarios.
Furthermore, the EC units have been conceived with a modular architecture, which not only reduces the number of components but also enhances scalability. This architectural choice facilitates customisation according to specific client needs and capacities, ensuring optimal performance even under challenging conditions.
Metso’s launch, highlighted by the exhibition of the Lokotrack EC range, underscores the company’s commitment to providing sustainable and efficient solutions within the construction and aggregate industries. These crushers are engineered to meet the demands of high-volume production with minimal downtime, reflecting Metso’s emphasis on durability and cost-effectiveness.
Metso’s diesel-electric crushers represent a significant step forward in efficient and sustainable aggregate processing technology.
