Matalan’s latest festive campaign brings to life the relatable chaos many families experience during Christmas. The campaign marks the brand’s first Christmas advertisement centred on their new platform, “We get it, we’ve got you.” Through this message, Matalan seeks to resonate with customers by acknowledging the imperfect yet joyful reality of organising a perfect Christmas.
The advertisement centres around The Mellings, a family of five, as they prepare for the Christmas festivities. Dressed in their finest party attire, the family encounters typical holiday mishaps such as running out of wrapping paper and board game disputes. Charlotte Dewhurst, Director of Marketing at Matalan, highlighted that these challenges are often omitted from the polished images seen on social media, emphasising Matalan’s understanding of these universally shared experiences.
The campaign will be broadcast on ITV, Channel 4, Sky, and various digital TV channels throughout November and December.
