Marella Cruises has proudly appointed two of its seasoned employees, Tatyana Olkhovska and Jacqui Nobile, as godmothers for their newest addition, Marella Voyager, which is poised to set sail in June. This announcement highlights Marella’s preference for recognising the dedication of its internal team over selecting external celebrities for such prestigious roles.
The godmothers, Tatyana Olkhovska and Jacqui Nobile, collectively possess more than four decades of experience in the cruise sector and have been instrumental in various pivotal roles within TUI. Their extensive experience not only emphasises the high standards of service at Marella but also showcases the depth of talent within the company’s workforce. Olkhovska, who became Marella’s chief purser in 2017 after joining in 2003, has played a vital role in fostering and developing talent within the company. Similarly, Nobile, who began her tenure with TUI in 1994, has significantly contributed to the cruise leadership team following diverse roles, starting as an overseas representative in Menorca.
The selection of godmothers was conducted through an internal nomination process, reinforcing Marella’s core value of acknowledging the hard work and commitment of its longstanding employees. Chris Hackney, the Managing Director of Marella Cruises, articulated this sentiment: “At Marella, we love to recognise our own dedicated staff for the important role of godmother.” He further expressed pride in Olkhovska and Nobile’s appointment, citing their significant contributions to ensuring exceptional holiday experiences for guests.
The Marella Voyager is scheduled to be christened during a ceremony in Malaga on 31 May, an event that will formally introduce the ship to Marella’s fleet. Following the christening, the Voyager’s winter 2023 programme, featuring the Paradise Islands itinerary, will commence in November from Barbados.
