Kyle Donald has been appointed as a sales executive at dnata Travel Group’s Yalago, marking a significant transition from his previous position at Ramsay World Travel in Aberdeen. This newly-created role will see Donald operating from Scotland, as he collaborates closely with Colin Currie, the Head of Retail for UK and Scandinavia, to bolster Yalago’s presence and services in these regions.
The strategic expansion of Yalago is evident as the company reports a doubling in the number of agents trading with its business in both the UK and Scandinavia from 2023 to 2024. This growth is attributed to an increased demand for Yalago’s B2B products and services, which are now more accessible to agents, tour operators, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
Colin Currie has expressed enthusiasm about this expansion, stating, ‘Due to the record expansion of Yalago Retail over the last year, we are increasing the team with the addition of Kyle to allow us to work even closer with our new agents, and to support with expansion further across the UK and Scandinavia in 2024.’ Donald’s appointment is seen as instrumental in achieving these goals, as his retail experience and enthusiasm are expected to enhance the team’s capabilities.
Yalago, which was launched in 2020, has been instrumental in providing directly contracted rates at over 12,000 hotels worldwide. This approach not only broadens the scope of their B2B offerings but also ensures a competitive edge in the marketplace. With such a broad network of hotels and their strategic business model, Yalago aims to continue its upward trajectory by providing comprehensive support to its agents.
Kyle Donald’s appointment underscores Yalago’s commitment to expanding its influence and operational efficacy in the UK and Scandinavia.
