Kate MacNevin has transitioned from her role as the Global Chief Operating Officer at McCann Worldgroup to become the new Global CEO of Stein IAS. Her extensive career, which spans over three decades, includes significant achievements and roles that prepared her for this position. MacNevin’s appointment is set to also include duties as the Executive Chair of the parent company, MSQ B2B.
Throughout her career, MacNevin has gathered a wealth of experience in both leadership and operations. At McCann, she progressed from directing the Canadian General Motors business to serving as the Executive Director of Global Operations for Commonwealth/McCann. More recently, she held the role of Global Chairwoman and CEO at MRM, which is McCann’s global direct and digital marketing agency.
MacNevin expressed her enthusiasm about joining Stein IAS by noting, “MSQ stands out as an independent group that puts clients at the heart of everything it does. It’s entrepreneurial spirit, unique proposition, and the collaboration between its agencies to deliver results attracted me to the position.” This reflects her belief in MSQ’s nimble model and her vision for limitless possibilities in the B2B sector, where strategies increasingly reflect those of the D2C landscape.
MacNevin will lead a collaborative leadership team at Stein IAS, which includes key figures such as Chairman and Chief Brand Officer Tom Stein, as well as Global President Craig Duxbury. She will report directly to MSQ’s Board and Executive Director, Kate Howe. In discussing MacNevin’s appointment, Howe remarked, “Attracting an agency leader with Kate’s track record is huge for us and a testament to the trajectory of MSQ and Stein IAS.” Howe’s comments underscore the high expectations and ambitions the group has in developing agency hubs across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia.
MacNevin’s appointment as Global CEO is set to drive Stein IAS’s growth and strategic ambitions on a global scale.
