Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone brand has marked a significant milestone by securing its inaugural national supermarket listing with Waitrose. This partnership will see the brand’s beer and cider available for purchase in more than 300 Waitrose locations across the United Kingdom. The expansion signifies a major step for the brand, reaching a much broader audience.
Launched in 2021, Hawkstone quickly became the UK’s fastest-growing beer brand. Established by Jeremy Clarkson in collaboration with the Cotswold Brew Co., the brand is named after a Neolithic standing stone near Clarkson’s Gloucestershire farm. Hawkstone’s emergence in Waitrose not only marks its success but also its contribution to celebrating local heritage.
Committed to supporting local agriculture, all Hawkstone lagers are brewed with barley sourced from British farmers. Similarly, its cider is produced using apples from local British orchards. This dedication is part of the brand’s appeal, attracting consumers who value sustainability and support for local farming communities.
The offering in Waitrose will include Hawkstone’s premium lager with an alcohol content of 4.8%, a session beer at 4%, India Pale Ale (IPA) at 4.8%, and a cider of 5%. Clarkson expressed his delight with the listing, citing gratitude towards Waitrose for supporting British agriculture: “I’m literally thrilled. And a big thank you to Waitrose for supporting British farming.”
Hawkstone’s recent inclusion in the Sunday Times Top 100 fastest-growing UK companies underscores its rapid growth and solidifies its reputation in the industry. The brand has cultivated a loyal following due to its quality products and ethos that promotes British farming.
Adding to its accolades, Hawkstone’s flagship premium lager was crowned Country Winner at the World Beer Awards, distinguishing itself as the top lager in England. It has also been recognised with a Great Taste Award, further testament to its quality.
In a further venture to engage with consumers directly, Hawkstone has launched its first ‘Hawkstone Filling Station’ at The Farmer’s Dog, a pub owned by Jeremy Clarkson, in the Cotswolds. This initiative exemplifies the brand’s innovative approach to outreach and consumer engagement.
In securing a national listing with Waitrose, Hawkstone strengthens its presence in the UK market, reinforcing its commitment to quality and British farming.
