The Right Mortgage & Protection Network (TRM) has strategically appointed Jane Gough as the new regulatory trainer, an announcement reflecting the network’s focus on strengthening its internal resources and regulatory compliance. Gough steps into this crucial role tasked with the production and improvement of regulatory training aimed at enhancing the capabilities of appointed representative (AR) firms and their advisors.
With a professional background spanning more than 20 years in the mortgage sector, Jane Gough transitions from Express Mortgages where she served as a senior mortgage consultant. Her career reflects a robust foundation in mortgage advisory, including managing her own firm, and previous consulting roles at Countrywide Mortgages. Ben Allen, who serves as the compliance director of TRM, underscores Gough’s in-depth understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape, especially in light of new Consumer Duty standards.
Allen elaborates, ‘At the network, our ability to invest back into the business significantly involves enriching our human resources across various functions, particularly regulatory. Introducing experienced professionals like Jane is anticipated to yield benefits for the network and its adviser firms.’ He emphasises Gough’s indispensable role in ensuring advisory teams remain proficient in regulatory responsibilities.
Jane Gough articulates her enthusiasm for this transition, having pondered disengagement from mortgage advisory after two decades. The alignment of TRM’s values with her own, coupled with the opportunity to leverage her extensive expertise for the benefit of AR members, cemented her decision to take on this role. She states, ‘TRM attracted me with its core values mirroring my professional ethos, and I am eager to contribute to both the team and our firms.’
Jane Gough’s appointment marks a pivotal step for TRM, reinforcing their commitment to regulatory excellence and advisor support.
