In the ongoing pursuit of a more inclusive and equitable travel industry, the International Women in Travel and Tourism Forum (IWTTF) will provide a significant platform for dialogue this June. Intrepid Travel is poised to play a pivotal role in this discourse, with co-founder Darrell Wade and EMEA managing director Zina Bencheikh slated to address the forum. Through their participation, they aim to highlight the importance of inclusive leadership in the industry.
Scheduled to be moderated by IWTTF founder Alessandra Alonso, this discussion on inclusive leadership will allow Wade and Bencheikh to delve into their experiences of integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into their business. Their conversation is anticipated to be one of the event’s highlights, taking place at Google’s London office on June 27.
Prior to this, the IWTTF Awards will recognise leading figures in the travel industry who have made significant strides in advancing DEI. These accolades will be distributed during a ceremony at Expedia’s headquarters on June 26, setting the stage for the forum.
Alonso remarked on the longstanding partnership with Intrepid Travel, stating, “Zina and the team at Intrepid have been with us since the beginning and have been an integral part of our mission and growth, so we are excited to welcome Darrell and Zina to the stage together for the first time.” This collaboration underscores the value and impact of leadership committed to fostering inclusive environments.
Bencheikh has expressed her excitement about Wade’s involvement, commending him as a leader who speaks with integrity and authority about inclusive leadership. Wade himself is enthusiastic about joining the forum in person, recognising the event’s growing influence and importance in the travel sector’s DEI initiatives. He noted, “DEI is central to our whole ethos at Intrepid, from our teams – with some incredible women from a range of backgrounds in leadership roles – to our product that includes women-only tours and local projects that foster deep connections with the communities we visit.”
The IWTTF event serves as a crucial platform for advancing the discourse on inclusive leadership within the travel industry.
