The Institute of Directors has expanded its resources for members by launching a new business hub centrally located in Manchester. Situated in Clockwise Manchester at Linley House, the hub offers IoD members access to a modern workspace, repurposed from a former electrical station built in 1963. The venue provides a strategic location just a short walk from both Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations.
IoD Manchester chair, Debbie Black, highlights the membership benefits the hub presents, noting that the facility is a significant addition to their offerings. Members can utilise drop-in co-working spaces and enjoy meals at the onsite café, Two Hands. Additionally, starting in 2025, the hub will host monthly in-person events aimed at supporting both members and the broader SME market.
Black has articulated her vision for IoD Manchester through a series of planned events focused on knowledge sharing and business experience growth. These events are designed to enable members to gain insights from more seasoned directors, a common theme among member interests. The hub is seen as instrumental in facilitating these opportunities.
In her leadership role, Black has expressed her commitment to ensuring the Manchester committee reflects the diversity of its membership. She is actively seeking to expand the committee and invites interested individuals to contact her via LinkedIn for potential participation.
The collaboration between the IoD and Clockwise Manchester is confirmed for an initial period of six months. The hub, accessible to IoD members from Monday through Friday between 8 am to 5.30 pm, provides hot desks, breakout areas, and drink stations. Furthermore, members receive discounted rates on meeting room reservations.
The Institute of Directors’ new Manchester hub promises to enhance member engagement and resource accessibility.
