Held at London’s Congress Centre on April 16, the event drew significant attention with over 1,300 meetings conducted, showcasing a remarkable climb in participation from the previous year.
This year’s forum attracted a wide array of tourism professionals, marking the highest turnout in its history. With more than 90 buyer companies and 65 suppliers, the marketplace expanded by 30% compared to last year. Representatives spanned 12 countries, with a notable guest delegation from the Rezija region in Italy.
Nejc Jus, from the World Travel & Tourism Council, underscored the region’s bustling tourism growth. Albania, for instance, celebrated over 10 million visitors for the first time. Similarly, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia reported steady increases, highlighting the impetus behind regional tourism development.
Slovenia emerged as a forerunner, experiencing tourism growth while successfully curtailing carbon emissions. This accomplishment set a benchmark for others, underscoring the significance of aligning growth with sustainability initiatives.
Co-director Tine Murn reflected on the overwhelmingly positive reception of the event, indicating a solid foothold for New Deal Europe in the annual tourism timeline.
