The Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) has announced the organisation of its first-ever conference focused on the expedition cruise industry. Slated for the 1st and 2nd of October 2024, this pivotal event will be held at the Bankside Hotel in London, underscoring the growing significance of the expedition cruise sector.
This conference, fostering a collaborative platform, is realised through the partnership with the lead sponsor, HX, a prominent name in the industry. As Akvile Marozaite, the co-founder and CEO of ECN, noted, the sector’s expansion necessitates such events to converge the best of the UK’s travel trade professionals with leading expedition cruise brands globally. The primary objective is to cultivate valuable connections and deliberate on crucial issues pertaining to this dynamic segment of the travel industry.
Strategically structured, the conference spans two days, featuring engaging seminars interspersed with up to 30 pre-arranged face-to-face meetings. These meetings, meticulously organised through a digital platform, enable participants to directly interact with UK sellers who have engaged with ECN’s webinar programme. This element of personal interaction is designed to fortify relationships between the trade delegates and the expedition cruise brands.
The guest list is composed of a diverse mix of independent agents, tour operators, home-workers, and leisure agents, reflecting the inclusive nature of the event. Importantly, travel trade delegates are invited to attend without any charge, thereby promoting an open exchange of knowledge and opportunities within the community.
Nathaniel Sherborne, MD & VP Europe and Global Sales Enablement for HX, emphasised the centrality of sustainability within the expedition cruise industry. Sherborne asserts that HX Hurtigruten Expeditions is aptly positioned to highlight the sector’s importance and encourage professionals keen on business growth to partake and glean insights from the event.
The ECN conference in October marks a significant milestone in uniting industry leaders and professionals to address and advance the expedition cruise sector.
