HX has announced the appointment of three new members to its UK commercial team in a bid to solidify its presence in the region. The hires include Hayley Van Der Steen and Sophie Nelson as trade partnership managers, and Megan Lewis as inside sales executive. Each of these individuals is poised to bring a wealth of industry experience to the table.
Van Der Steen, with over two decades in the travel sector, and Nelson, formerly with Avis Budget Group International, will focus on enhancing the company’s relationships with travel agency partners. Their roles will involve commercial and marketing aspects as well as system integration, product knowledge, and training initiatives.
Megan Lewis, with six years of experience in the cruise industry, will play a crucial role in organising ship visits and familiarisation trips, aimed at providing deeper insights into the company’s offerings. Lewis is expected to strengthen the connection between the company’s services and its trade partners.
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the UK & Nordics, Nathaniel Sherborne, emphasised the significance of this team expansion. He stated, “The expansion of our team is a pivotal moment for us at HX, marking a long-term investment in strengthening our partnerships with the travel trade.” Sherborne highlighted the team’s role in supporting trade partners through training, marketing assistance, and education.
This strategic move aligns with HX’s rebranding from Hurtigruten Expeditions, which encompasses the unveiling of a new name and brand identity. The rebranding includes updates across brochures, websites, social channels, and the livery repainting of its fleet over the next 18 months.
The appointments underscore HX’s commitment to fostering robust partnerships within the travel industry as part of its strategic rebranding efforts.
