Hudson Lifting has extended its reach with the inauguration of a new depot strategically located at the Elmdon Trading Estate near Birmingham Airport. The depot’s expansive 5,000 square meters include modern open-plan offices, extensive storage facilities, and state-of-the-art workshop areas, providing a robust platform for further growth and operational excellence in the area.
Founded by Jeff Hudson in 2018, Hudson Lifting has experienced considerable growth and transformation. The company was acquired by AER Rents in April 2023, a move that facilitated an accelerated expansion strategy. Initially, Hudson Lifting operated three depots strategically positioned around the M25 motorway, effectively catering to the demands of the Greater London area. However, the acquisition triggered an ambitious growth phase, leading to the establishment of new depots in Portsmouth and Bridgwater, alongside the recently launched Birmingham site.
The Birmingham depot is comprehensively equipped to offer an array of lifting, hoisting, hauling, and jacking equipment. In addition to these core offerings, the site also provides essential services such as equipment inspection, repairs, and testing, thereby meeting a wide range of industrial needs. Depot manager Matt Rudd stated, “We’ve been looking forward to this moment, and the opening of our Birmingham depot is a major step forward for Hudson Lifting.” His comments underscore the strategic importance of this expansion in enhancing the company’s service delivery capabilities.
