Hubby is seeking €2-3 million in funding to expand its eSim offerings through B2B2C channels, promising more details soon. The company aims to strengthen its position within the travel industry, enhancing customer value through internet accessibility overseas. Hubby anticipates this investment will support global expansion and bolster existing partnerships, offering a promising growth trajectory in the connectivity market.
Hubby, an Amsterdam-based eSim provider, is actively engaged in ‘advanced discussions’ with investors for a substantial seed fundraising amounting between €2 million and €3 million. This development comes as the company nears the completion of its second full year of operations. Initially, Hubby was backed by €450,000 from friends and family, a modest start considering its ambitious vision and rapid market entry.
With operations commencing in December 2022, Hubby provides agents and travel partners the opportunity to offer eSims to travellers as a value-added service. This innovative approach enables tourists to maintain internet connectivity while abroad, fundamentally enhancing their travel experience.
Hubby boasts impressive delivery figures, having distributed over 175,000 eSims through its B2B2C sales channels, which include collaborations with travel agencies and tour operators. The company projects an annual revenue of approximately €750,000 by the end of the current year, marking a significant achievement for the fledgling enterprise.
Thijs van de Wijk, the founder and CEO of Hubby, expressed gratitude towards the company’s B2B2C partners for their pivotal role in providing internet solutions to travellers. He highlighted the shift from traditional consumer sales to utilising eSims as a strategic value-add in partnership with travel providers, a move that he believes opens avenues for cross-selling and enhances customer satisfaction.
Van de Wijk emphasised the enhanced customer experience that eSims offer for as little as a few euros, noting the positive impact on clients’ bottom lines and Net Promoter Scores (NPS). The growing awareness of Hubby’s offerings is evidenced by global enquiries, indicating a burgeoning interest in their connectivity solutions.
As Hubby strategises its next steps towards team expansion and forging new partnerships with travel service providers, the company remains optimistic about its future in the global market. Van de Wijk advised observers to ‘watch this space’ for upcoming announcements as Hubby continues to innovate and expand.
Hubby’s strategic fundraising efforts aim to solidify its innovative approach in the travel industry while enhancing global connectivity through value-added eSims.
