A recent survey conducted during SNAP’s third annual TruckPark Tour has unveiled significant insights into the preferences and needs of HGV drivers across Europe. The findings reveal that a substantial 80% of drivers surveyed utilise SNAP’s payment methods for their parking needs, highlighting its widespread acceptance and effectiveness in streamlining payment processes.
During the tour, which began in the UK at Felixstowe Truckstop on 26 June and concluded at The Hollies truckstop on 28 August after visiting Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, and Poland, drivers were entertained with competitions and giveaways. More importantly, the tour functioned as a platform to gauge driver satisfaction and gather critical feedback.
A noteworthy 74% of drivers across Europe expressed a desire for more service partners to join the SNAP network. This call for expansion underlines the need for enhanced facilities and broader access to these digital services, which are evidently crucial to their operations.
The survey also highlighted a unique interest from UK drivers, with 47% wanting more domestic sites integrated into the SNAP payments network. This indicates a specific regional need for increased convenience and accessibility within the UK.
Emphasising the benefits of digitalisation, 70% of drivers reported that SNAP’s digital payment system improved their operational efficiency by eliminating the need to pay out of pocket and later claim expenses. Additionally, 28% appreciated the extensive network of SNAP parking, while 27% found the intruck app and website valuable tools.
James Harding, SNAP’s marketing and social media executive, stated that the TruckPark Tour has been instrumental in understanding the needs of the European audience, emphasizing the company’s commitment to expanding its services.
Matthew Bellamy, SNAP’s Managing Director, acknowledged the feedback as vital for the company’s growth strategy. He noted the importance of addressing the drivers’ needs as SNAP continues its expansion initiatives.
SNAP’s acquisition of the OTRA truck parking network, which brought over 120 additional parking options to their portfolio, is a strategic move to strengthen their service offerings and network capabilities.
