HF, a prominent UK legal advisory firm, has partnered with One Punch UK as their charity for 2023. This initiative is a tribute to Jack Jermy-Doyle, a valued member of HF’s Recoveries team, whose life was tragically cut short in 2022 due to an assault. In a move that underlines its commitment to both community and employees, HF has sought to honour Jermy-Doyle’s memory by collaborating with a charity that highlights the severe consequences of one-punch violence.
One Punch UK was chosen following a personal nomination by Jermy-Doyle’s parents. The charity is dedicated to increasing awareness about the potentially devastating outcomes of one-punch incidents. It operates on three foundational pillars: educational outreach, victim support, and continuous awareness efforts. The educational focus includes workshops to inform the public about the serious ramifications of such violence, including legal consequences and brain injuries.
The support services provided by One Punch UK are aimed at both victims and their bereaved families, offering essential services such as therapeutic counselling, mindfulness sessions, and practical assistance through telephone or face-to-face interactions. This unique approach ensures that those affected by one-punch violence do not feel isolated after such traumatic events.
HF is not only committed to raising funds for One Punch UK, but also aims to leverage its expertise to assist in the charity’s awareness campaigns. The firm’s People Director, Oliver Bate, expressed delight in supporting the charity, emphasising the collective impact felt by the team due to Jermy-Doyle’s loss. He stated the firm’s dedication to utilising their resources to help One Punch UK expand its reach and influence.
Ronan McCann, CEO and Managing Partner of HF, reiterated the importance of this partnership, noting its alignment with the firm’s core values. McCann stressed that annual collaborations with charities are seen as crucial opportunities for HF to contribute meaningfully to society, particularly in areas that resonate personally with their team. Hence, supporting One Punch UK this year holds particular significance for HF, given the personal connection to Jermy-Doyle.
HF’s partnership with One Punch UK not only honours Jack Jermy-Doyle’s memory but also contributes significantly to raising awareness about the severe consequences of one-punch violence.
