The not-for-profit organisation B Lab has scrutinised and certified HF Holidays, ensuring that the company adheres to responsible practices in several critical areas, namely energy supply, waste management, water usage, and employee diversity. It’s noteworthy that HF Holidays has integrated its dedication to purpose as well as profit into its corporate governance, thereby achieving a significant score of 84.9, surpassing the 80-point threshold set by B Lab for certification compliance.
The CEO of HF Holidays, David Harrington, expressed immense pride in achieving B Corp certification, highlighting the organisation’s perpetual commitment to ethical business operations. In collaboration with carbon consultancy e-collective, HF Holidays has crafted a comprehensive strategy to diminish the carbon intensity of its offerings by a targeted 5% annually. The travel firm has also progressively adopted renewable energy solutions across 16 of its country houses, demonstrating tangible advancements toward sustainability. Additionally, the expansion of rail travel options for 2025 exemplifies HF Holidays’ forward-thinking initiatives in reducing overseas travel footprints.
Further to these efforts, HF Holidays has undertaken numerous other initiatives, including utilising local guides to cut down on international travel, minimising brochure distribution and direct mail, removing single-use plastics from all UK-based country houses, and installing electric vehicle charging points at these locations.
