The prestigious ‘Amazing Golden Ticket Celebration’ hosted by Hays Travel serves as a testament to the company’s commitment to recognising and rewarding outstanding achievements. This year’s event was a remarkable gathering, held in the picturesque setting of Chester’s Carden Park Hotel and Spa, where more than 200 high-performing colleagues were celebrated.
Dame Irene Hays, the owner of Hays Travel, spearheaded the festivities, lauding the accomplishments of the recipients. “We’re incredibly proud of all our Amazing Golden Ticket award recipients and it was a delight to welcome even more colleagues whose exceptional performance earned them a place at this year’s celebration,” she remarked, reflecting the company’s pride in its workforce.
The event significantly grew in scale compared to the previous year, with attendance numbers rising from 130 to 205. This increase illustrates not only the growing success of Hays Travel employees but also the ever-expanding reach of its recognition programmes, such as the Steps to Success initiative.
The programme, launched in May 2022, is integral to Hays Travel’s approach to employee development. Those achieving ‘Amazing’ status in the 2023-24 financial year received a coveted golden ticket, personally delivered by a development coach or regional sales manager. This personal touch underscores the company’s dedication to acknowledging and celebrating success.
As part of the celebrations, an array of prizes was distributed, donated by tour operators eager to support Hays Travel’s commendable initiative. Prizes included a 14-night Princess cruise, a seven-night Riviera river cruise, and a three-night trip to New York, amongst others. For the first time, participants were also awarded an exclusive ‘I am Gold 2024’ pin badge to be worn with pride on their uniforms.
Beccy Rayner, head of foreign exchange field sales and head of the Steps to Success programme, expressed enthusiasm for the event’s outcomes. “We are thrilled that even more of our colleagues achieved amazing success and received the recognition they deserve at this year’s event,” she stated, acknowledging both the generosity of suppliers and the achievements of the colleagues.
The Golden Ticket Celebration continues to foster an environment of excellence and recognition at Hays Travel.
