Gold Medal has introduced its innovative ‘Curated Offers’ service, which aims to significantly strengthen the range of deals that travel agents can present to their clients. This new resource is part of a strategic effort to leverage the wealth of data generated weekly in the form of quotes, which had previously been underutilised. Each week, the company generates thousands of quotes through its online platforms and contact centres, which are now being redirected to bolster agent marketing efforts.
The service allows agents to sift through the available data—filtering by regions, departure airports, and star ratings—to find the most relevant offers. By doing so, agents can tailor their marketing strategies more effectively, ensuring they provide their clients with competitive and appealing options. Initially, these curated offers are solely accessible to Gold Medal agents; however, there are plans to eventually roll this out to additional brands, including Pure Luxury and Cruise Plus.
According to Simon Applebaum, Gold Medal’s Managing Director, even the most meticulously curated offers do not always result in conversions. Hence, this new service provides a second opportunity for these offers to find use. As Mr Applebaum put it, “These offers are then obsolete and despite the work that goes into making them the most competitive possible and with specific criteria in mind, they are effectively left on the cutting room floor.” He identifies this service as a mechanism to “amplify the number of offers agents have access to,” thereby supporting agents in creating customised marketing collateral.
The ‘Curated Offers’ service was showcased to agents for the first time during the Gold Medal Big Day Out event. Alongside these presentations, the brand has conducted webinars aimed at equipping agents with the necessary skills to utilise the platform effectively. Feedback from agents has been notably positive, indicating a strong receptiveness and enthusiasm for the additional tools now at their disposal.
