Glencar has announced the completion of two advanced industrial units at Erdington Industrial Park in Birmingham. These units, measuring 42,000 and 58,000 square feet, have been constructed with a focus on high standards and environmental considerations.
The two units were built for Vengrove, an investment management and advisory firm. Glencar emphasised the structures’ high specifications, citing features such as a 10-metre eaves height and a yard depth of 44 metres. Additionally, the units are equipped with roof-mounted photovoltaic panels, dock level, and level access doors, designed to meet best-in-class environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Achieving BREEAM Excellent and an EPC A rating, these units illustrate Glencar’s commitment to delivering buildings that promote sustainability. Pete Goodman, Glencar MD Midlands, highlighted the significance of these developments in addressing the scarcity of new, high-specification mid-box warehousing in Birmingham. He noted the company’s progress in establishing industry benchmarks with sustainable developments that reduce carbon emissions during construction and operation.
Jennie Brown, asset manager at Vengrove, expressed her enthusiasm about launching these units into the market. She pointed out the significant interest from occupiers, both for combined and individual units, as indicative of the high-quality standards achieved by Glencar and its team.
This development is part of Glencar’s broader strategy to lead in sustainable construction, setting a precedent for future projects. The company has been pivotal in addressing supply shortages while achieving exemplary environmental standards.
The completion of these units marks another milestone in Glencar’s journey towards sustainable and high-quality construction.
