Preston-based GBA Logistics has strategically acquired the Silver X Group and Bow Distribution & Warehousing, two respected firms in the UK logistics landscape. This acquisition aligns with GBA’s significant expansion plan to strengthen its foothold in both the UK and the European markets. GBA Logistics, known for its comprehensive logistics solutions, operates an extensive fleet with licenses for 143 trucks and 149 trailers, catering to various sectors including the transportation of aircraft engines, car parts, retail goods, and high-value items. This move is anticipated to enhance the logistical capabilities and market reach of the company.
Silver X Group, launched in 2013 and based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, specialises in road haulage, warehousing, and pallet distribution, operating 75 trucks and 50 trailers. Alongside its sister company Bow Distribution & Warehousing, which holds licenses for 30 trucks and 30 trailers, Silver X has built a robust service offering, inclusive of groupage and full load deliveries. Both companies are well-regarded in the logistics domain for their commitment to service excellence and are members of the United Pallet Network (UPN), enhancing their distribution services.
The union of these companies is expected to leverage the strengths of each, maintaining the brand names and existing management teams under the leadership of Managing Director Gavin Burgess. This strategic decision is anticipated to bolster the operational synergies and streamline the business processes of the amalgamated entities.
